I took part in the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox studios here in LA this week March 18-20, 2007. It was an exciting and surreal experience for me and Mimi A La Mode.
Our line of bed and bath accessories were met with such great enthusiasm and excitement that I knew I was in the right place. I met many women of the fashion press, stylists and some celebrites too.
I was interviewed for the new tv channel Beauty and Fashion and may have an opportunity to present my "Betty Caps" on the Style Network The Betty Caps are my charity caps for the the chemotherapy patients being treated for cancer. These are in honor of my mom who passed away from uterine cancer.
On a lighter note, our lovely new Liberty Art Nouveau Pajamas peaked the interest of Soap star Alison Sweeney and Dustin Hoffman as a gift for his wife.
Alison took home a pair of pink earplugs as my gift to her for stopping by.
She also really liked the lace makeup wrap as something for her character to wear in her beach wedding episode. How cool!
I have a project in the works with our cute new leopard makeup wrap and headband with a well know makeup artist and her famous client. When I get the photo, I will post it on the on the site with her approval.
I also made some new friends, who happen to be of course fashion designers. Vannessa Carreno with a lovely line of natural feminine clothing lacy and
floral and Shelly Moeller of Rockstyle with some super cute denim capes and vests. Very Melrose Avenue!
All in all the event was exciting and the ladies who put it on Lauren and Nancy were the best. Thank you to them for having me!
All in all the long days and dark circles under my eyes today, were worth the experience! The only downside was Lambchop, my poodle, was mad at me to be locked inside the loft for 3 days. (I will make it up to her with a long walk in the park.)
I think is was the best way to relaunch Mimi A La
Mode. Spring 2007 so far is going great! |
